An interesting mint error
Lot 1669
Constantine I (?), 307/310-337. Follis (Bronze, 19 mm, 3.20 g, 2 h), uniface mint error, Treveri, 317-318. blank. Rev. SOLI INVIC-TO COMITI / F - T / ATR Sol standing front, head to left, nude but for chlamys, raising his right hand in salute and holding globe in his left. RIC 157 ff. Minor edge crack, otherwise, very fine.

From the Tetrarchy Collection, formed over the past twenty-five years.

This uniface mint error probably resulted from a second flan being stuck in between the coin and the obverse die. We have tentatively attributed it to Licinius I, but it could also be an issue of Constantine II.
